The Humble Beginnings of a Visionary
The story of Parvati Textile Centre began in 1980, when Mr. Vishnu Punjabi, a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for honest business and community service, laid its foundation in Brunei Darussalam. What started as a modest textile and tailoring store quickly became a trusted name in the neighborhood — not just for products, but for the values it stood for: fairness, quality, and human connection.
A New Chapter: Entering FMCG Trade
As Brunei’s economy and retail landscape evolved, so did our vision. In 1988, PTC took a bold step into the fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) industry. With minimal resources but maximum determination, we began by distributing essential household products to local retailers — learning the ropes, building networks, and earning trust, one delivery at a time.
First International Expansion: Melbourne
With a growing local presence and increased demand from global suppliers, PTC took a major leap forward. In 2001, we opened our first international branch in Melbourne, Australia — a strategic move that allowed us to source products more efficiently and tap into global trade networks. This expansion marked the beginning of PTC’s journey as a cross-border distribution company.
Becoming Exclusive Distributor for Global Brands
As our network matured, so did our reputation. In 2003, several international FMCG agencies chose PTC as their exclusive distributor in Brunei, recognizing our commitment to service quality and retail reach. This milestone validated our belief in long-term, trust-driven partnerships and accelerated our growth across product categories.
Sydney Office: Expanding Global Reach
To support our growing Australian imports and further improve our sourcing capabilities, we launched our second international office in Sydney in 2010. This helped us establish a reliable supply chain pipeline — bringing premier brands and essential products to Brunei with greater speed, consistency, and cost-efficiency.
Recognized for Excellence
In 2014, our founder and principal, Mr. Vishnu Punjabi, was honored with the BIMP-EAGA Outstanding Entrepreneurship Award. This prestigious recognition celebrated his vision, resilience, and role in transforming PTC into one of the most dependable names in Southeast Asia’s wholesale FMCG sector.
Diversification into Medical Supplies
With the needs of society evolving, PTC expanded its offerings in 2019 to include medical products and healthcare equipment. This move wasn’t just strategic; it was purpose-driven — ensuring that we could support the health and safety of the communities we serve, especially in times of growing demand and global uncertainty.
Market Leader Post-Pandemic
When the COVID-19 pandemic disrupted global supply chains, PTC responded with agility and resilience. By strengthening our logistics, supply lines, and digital coordination, we became Brunei’s leading FMCG distributor, covering 98% of the market. This period tested our systems but proved our strength.

Today, PTC stands at the edge of a new frontier. Our focus is on digital transformation, expanding our services online, and optimizing distribution through tech-driven systems.
